Zoo

On Sunday, we took Lillie to the Zoo to check out the new exhibit - Tetron Trek. It contains grizzlie bears, wolves, and elk. These are two of the grizzlies bears. When we were first got there they were sitting in the sand taking it easy but as we made our way around the exhibit they were moving around which was cool especially for Lillie to see.

There was a full bear skin that we were able to "pet." Lillie thought it was pretty cool.

He he! Hopefully this will be the only bear she will ever be touching!

This is my favorite part of the Zoo the Polar Bears. While we were there this bear was just swimming back and forth in front of all the windows. We were able to get an up close and personal shot by one of the first personal windows which is where he turned around. The picture turned out pretty cool. You can see how he walks on the ground and his head stays above the water. Once, he isn't able to walk anymore he paddles with his front paws and his back paws just drag behind him. They are fascinating to watch!

Lillie's favorites - the "Melmans!" As we walked up to the exhibit they were walking back into their homes. This one, the third one apparently caught his eye on some yummy greenery and decided to hang out and lick the plants. Lillie thought it was great to we were glad to watch! :)

The lions were my last stop. Lillie has been on a kick of calling every man she says "daddy" and everyone women she sees "mommy." We were trying to explain the difference of the lions and used her logic "daddy" and "mommy." The daddy lion was just pacing back and forth in front of the door and then around the mommy. We were trying to also explain that it was dinner and night night time so that is why he was pacing around because he was ready to go. The rest of the night she kept saying, "daddy lion night night." She has just started putting concepts together into Lillie sentences that are two to three words. She maybe getting this talking down soon!

She kept saying "lellla" which we finally decided was gorilla and she said yea so we stopped by the gorillas on the way to the lions. She went nuts. We are not sure where the gorillas came from or why she was so interested in them. She was cracking up and so excited to see them. I'm really sorry we didn't get it on tape because it was hilarious. Jeremy and I were just dumbfounded at what was causing her to be so happy. One of the gorillas kept scratching his forehead, and Lillie would get so tickled. The rest of the evening she was scratching her head saying "lella" scratch her head and then giggle. She is so silly! She is still talking about her trip to the Zoo. It is amazing to see it all clicking and I love hearing her recount it! :)
