Lillie's Birthday Party

For Lillie's birthday party we had a few of her friends over and decorate "riding toys" for a parade down the street. A friend gave us the idea and with the Lords help it turned out to be a wonderful idea. The weather was great - mid to high 60s and sunny. We headed down the street and found a turn out spot and came back toward the house. It started getting dark quickly so we didn't make it too far but I think it was far enough for both the kids and parents. Once, we got back we had cupcakes and ice cream and then opened presents. I think everyone had a lot of fun. Lillie was so excited to have everyone over to play. In fact, she didn't even sleep most of her nap - I think in anticipation of all her friends coming over.

Britt came by for a little while before the party started because he had to go get ready for his football game. She gave him a sweet hug on his way out.

Decorating the riding toys - the kiddos used streamers, foam stickers, and balloons to get their rides ready for the parade. They seemed to have a great time.

Lillie traded rides with Avery. Avery took the wagon and Lillie wanted her Winnie the Pooh machine. I know the face expression doesn't really show it but I think she had a great time.

Trying to get Lillie to blow the candle out. She just stared at me with that sweet grin. Apparently, I didn't do a good job teaching or preparing her for what was to come. She did it in about 3 tries on the second go round on her birthday.

Present time: Lillie received a lot of help with opening her presents which she didn't mind at all. It cracked me up a bit. At one point, she watching some of the other girls pull the paper to see what the gift was - I tried to explain to her that she was supposet to open the gifts. I think she started to get the hang of it toward the end and especially on her actual birthday when she opened our presents. Lillie got some great gifts and has playing with them non stop all day - at least when we were home. She received a lot of books - which she loves and I think we have read all of them at least once already! Thank you so much!
