We took it pretty easy Halloween morning. In fact, Lillie was in her pjs until after her afternoon nap when we put her costume on. After her nap, we headed over to my parents house for a Halloween parade. It was their neighborhoods first time to have Halloween festivities and they were perfect for Lillie. They walked in a parade around the neighborhood with an EMA as the leader and two police cars as the finales. It was very exciting for the kids. The Pittman ladies joined us (unfortantely I didn't get a picture of the three of them all together.)
She was giddy with excitement - and I'm really not sure she even knew why to be excited!
We were waiting for the parade to get started - supposedly a firetruck was coming which never showed but I think that was what we were waiting on. Lillie was visiting with Taylor and Jordon Ezekiel from church.
They seemed to really enjoy themselves. Lillie was so excited. She got to ride on a new riding toy which we quickly began pushing or we may still be trying to get around the block. She found it very difficult to steer or we were bad teachers - I'm not sure which was the problem. We finally realized if we popped her up a little and the front wheels didn't touch she had no control and we were able to catch up with the rest of the parade. Luckily, both of my parents and my brother, Britt and his girlfriend, Elizabeth came with us so there were plenty of people to take turns pushing because it was just short enough to give you a back cramp! :)
When we got back on my parents street the trick or treating began. Well, it was a trunk or treat but same idea. It went really well. Some cars were parked on the street and some were parked in the drive way. Lillie seemed to really get it as we went back up the street. We were worked on saying trick or treat - which I should have gotten on tape b/c it wasn't quite right but you could definately get the idea. We also found it was a hard time to try and inforce the "thank you" rule/direction when she could see the next bowl of candy. However, she did pretty well it just sometimes took a lot of prompting.
We made our way back to my parents house and visited to for a bit. Lillie started checking out her loot. I'm not quite sure really realized what all was in there until we took a minute to check it out. Once she realized it was candy, there was no turning back. She quickly figured out how to open it and eat it! She probably had about 4 pieces before we finally took it away so she didn't get sick.
