I volunteered to help with t-shirts which meant we had to be there pretty early. Lillie was so excited to go to the race. This is a picture of her at 6am in the car on the way. Luckily, her excitement helped us to wake up too! :) Lillie was finally big enough this year to get a t-shirt which she is sporting under her seat belt! She was so excited to have t-shirt to wear to the race.
Daddy and Lillie eating a little breakfast - Daddy drinking a little coffee - before all the festivities got under way. It is between 6:30 and 7am here. They are sitting on the gazebo steps.
Caught dancing... stopped for about the length it took to take this picture then she was back at it!
Lydia and Mikey walking in the race. Lillie and I were cheering them on! We missed Daddy and Mark run by earlier. I wasn't quite on the ball for the two of them. This is a little into the mile 2!
That was all the race day pictures. After grabbing a little breakfast with everyone and heading to the kid station/100 yard dash area Lillie's knee ate some concrete. We had to quickly deal with her bloody knee so she could play. However, Lillie decided she would be inconsolably afraid or in fear of BAND AIDS! That's right BAND AIDS - every 2 year olds dream. It was a crazy scene she was screaming and crying and climbing all over me. We did eventually get one on her - it was bleeding after all but we could not get her to calm down. We finally decided to go assuming she was just tired and that is why she was freaking out the way she was but a couple days later we found out that wasn't the case. She fell down again, scraping the other knee, thus starting all over when the word BAND AID was mentioned! Hopefully she will quickly grow out of this phase... or at least pay attention to what she is doing so she stops falling down! :)
The rest of the pictures were taken at home because I wanted to get their outfits. Plus Annie was so cute here, how could I resist getting the camera out!?! :) This was actually Lillie's onesie from when she was little and then I made her some bloomers to match last week for the race.
This was probably after 10am, everyone was a bit worn out at this time. We decided to put a movie in and "rest" for a little bit. There was also still a little calming down going on from the knee - our little drama queen decided she couldn't walk for a bit because it hurt. This was her idea of relaxing and getting under control!
