Yesterday, we had another (very disappointing) open house so we decided to take Lillie to the zoo in hopes to entertain her enough that she didn't realize she was missing her nap. She did very well. If nothing else it let us know that she would do very well at the football games starting in a few weeks. We started out with the cats - which I assumed would be snoozing but the leopards were all over the place. She was very excited to see them. He just walked back in forth in front of her. She also got to see the lynx hissing at something we couldn't quite figure it out but Lillie was very intrigued. We also got to see the penguins they were swimming around. Last time they weren't out so Lillie enjoyed seeing them. We were able to hit our normal spots the elephants (we watched one of them wash itself - pretty incredible!), sea lions, polar bears (it was feeding time and it walked right up to the window Lillie was standing in front of so that was pretty cool!), donkeys (Martys), and of course the giraffes (Melmans). This summer there has been a special exhibit - the Birds and Bees. You can get a feed stick and the birds would come and sit on the stick and nibble on the food. It was a pretty interesting exhibit. We stopped by so Jeremy could see it. Lillie and I had been through there once before. It is a pretty cool exhibit and hopefully it will return next year. Lillie did great and even stayed awake the whole way home so that gives us hope that she will survive football season! :)
