Christmas Morning 12-25-10

Christmas Morning!! Lillie has been so excited this Christmas season - she definitely gets the Christmas story - as much as a 3 year old can, she has been singing the songs - and still singing the songs (it is 1/6), and watching the Christmas shows/movies - over and over again. But Christmas morning came and she was completely oblivious. She came to our room and was just hanging out like no big deal. We asked her if she wanted to go see if there were any presents under the tree and she looked a bit confused and then we went to check it out. I think the morning turned out better than she could have imagined (especially since she didn't realize or remember she would be waking up to presents). We had a great morning. We opened stockings, ate an Ireland tradition - Cinnamon Flop for breakfast, and then headed back to the presents.

In fact, after we opened two of her presents she got her passie, crawled over to me to pick her up, and then put her head on my shoulder. Her way of saying it's nap time! She seemed to enjoy herself much more after her nap.

After opening presents, my parents came over so we could do Christmas with them. Lillie had her fill - can you imagine that a 3 year old refusing to open presents. She sat in the corner coloring while we opened presents - it was quite baffling at the time. She eventually got back into it. I think it was all a bit overwhelming for her. She has and still is enjoying everything. I think she is still finding new things to play with!

We later went to my grandparents to join the rest of my family for more presents and Christmas dinner. Lillie and Annie took naps while we opened presents and attempted to eat dinner. Lillie popped up and was in a much better mood! She was very interested in opening presents after her rest. Annie had a great time playing with the gift wrap and climbing in boxes.
