9-7-09 Labor Day

Josh spent Labor Day weekend with us in Memphis. We started Labor Day weekend on Saturday in Starkville for the game. On Sunday, we went to church and Boscos for brunch. We took it easy for most of the day and then headed to my grandparents. Monday, we headed downtown for lunch and a Redbirds game. Josh wanted to try Flying Saucer but they were a 21 and up place so we ended up eating at our usual Flying Fish and then Josh and Jeremy walked down to Flying Saucer for a beer and Lillie and I went to the Peabody to check out the ducks. Lillie loved seeing them. One of them quacked the whole time we were there which Lillie thought was hilarious. She watched it for like 5 minutes straight without moving. I was impressed.

Once, the guys came back we headed over to the game. We ended up sitting in some chair backs right behind home plate. It really worked out great. Lillie and I sat in the spare seats - the handicap seats and the guys sat in the row in front of us. It really worked out well b/c for the most part she sat in her stroller next to me and then when she got antsy she went and sat with the guys climbing in and out of the fold up seats. The weather was great in shade too - there was even a decent breeze.

We all splurged a little at the game - the guys got a beer and Lillie and I got some ice cream. Lillie even got a souvenir hat the ice cream came in. I think every stuffed animal has worn it since we have been home. Here she is attempting to wear the hat. Definitely fits the animals much better!

After the game, we headed home and cooked burgers and rotel - special for Josh! :) We had a much needed relaxing weekend.
